Testing Torture (2): Intermission
Tuesday, 26 May 2009 07:12
Sometimes when you're told a story, you need to ask yourself if it's too good to be true. Especially if it's a story about ticking time bombs.
Many people I spoke with regarding these interviews were skeptical that nobody was tortured. This speaks volumes about trust in the Armed Forces. "It could be a cover up," is a reaction that both Eric Maddox and Matthew Alexander get more than they'd like.
In a brief intermission, we'll talk about the stickier side of the torture issue: the ticking time bomb scenarios, and extreme cases when even you and I might consider using it to save lives.
